At the opening of the 2nd Leipzig International Intercultural Music Festival, we warmly invite all guests to join a special Indonesian Gamelan experience — a participatory dance jam set to the sounds of traditional orchestral music.
This year’s edition of the festival builds cultural bridges for both young and old. In addition to two short films by dancer and choreographer Felix Chang, the audience will have the unique chance to experience Gamelan up close: discovering what it is, how it sounds, and how it is played.
Gamelan explores the mysteries of life and serves as an essential cultural voice of Asian migrant communities. An evening of shared singing, dancing, and participation awaits — under the artistic direction of FormosaLi and Felix Chang.
